The industrial wasteland of the former Fino company on Koblenzer Strasse in Andernach had to make way for a retail park in 2014 / 2015 acquired by an investor.
The uncontaminated material obtained from the demolition was recycled on site and reused as the substructure for the rebuild and the approximately 6,000 sqm of outdoor facilities.
The building was erected as a reinforced concrete skeleton structure with laminated wood beams and a facade made of pumice concrete prefabricated parts. This way, a short construction time of only 3.5 months was realized. After the start of construction in April 2015, the Fressnapf area was handed over ready for occupancy in July 2015.
The stores Fressnapf and Dänisches Bettenlager present themselves in their new design on a total of approximately 1,370 sqm of sales area. Here, pet food and supplies can be found as well as home accessories and furniture.
